Selenium is a necessary cofactor for glutathione peroxidases, which support antioxidant defenses by inactivating hydrogen peroxide.1 Selenium also helps to maintain healthy thyroid hormone production by supporting iodine metabolism.1 In addition, this trace mineral is involved in the production of certain prostaglandins that promote healthy blood flow.2 A study using a combination of selenomethionine and vitamin E found that selenium may support healthy growth and fertility.3 Selenium is also beneficial to the immune system.4 Selenomethionine is an organic form of selenium found naturally in Brazil nuts and legumes. It is made up of selenium bound to the amino acid methionine. Selenium is released from methionine during digestion. Selenium is primarily absorbed in the duodenum and proximal small intestine and is transported to tissues by specialized transport proteins.

Suggested Use:
Adults: 1 capsule daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.
Children: As directed by a healthcare professional. Not to be consumed by those under age 14.
